The educational experience in dentistry and oral surgery is enhanced by participation in VDOS clinical rounds and journal clubs. A mixture of case-/topic-based learning, interactive discussion, and article review provide opportunities for direct communication with the teacher. The topic discussed during the 2.5-hour online event is about salivary gland disorders in dogs and cats (drooling, sialocele, sialadenitis, sialadenosis, necrotizing sialometaplasia, and neoplasia).
