The educational experience in dentistry and oral surgery is enhanced by participation in VDOS clinical rounds and journal clubs. A mixture of case-/topic-based learning, interactive discussion, and article review provide opportunities for direct communication with the teacher. The topics discussed during the 2.5-hour online event belong to congenital palate defects in dogs and cats and include etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnostic imaging features, home care until time of repair, surgical techniques, and management of complications.
